Good Carb Food Co Ltd

The GoodCarb Food Company was set up in 2003 by Dr Mick Shaw and his wife, Lizi.

At that time Mick and Lizi were organic farmers on the Cardigan coast in West Wales. Being intrigued by how Low Carbohydrate diets apparently worked, and at the same time appalled by the artificial ingredients in Low Carb food products, they made an important discovery. They discovered that it was possible to produce food from entirely natural ingredients that had a minimal effect on blood sugar level. Thus the GoodCarb Food Company was born.

The farm was sold to start the business which is now based in Llanelli, S Wales. Mick and Lizi work on the development and testing of the low glycemic food products whilst manufacture is undertaken by partner businesses.

The Granola is baked at Fforest Parc Bakery in Swansea and the chocolate brownies are baked at Wholebake Ltd, in Corwen N. Wales.

Warehousing, packing and distribution are undertaken by Pack-it.com, a lively, social enterprise business based in Cardiff.
